The new OWON HDS1022M and HDS2062M two channel, digital oscilloscope/multimeters are designed for field use including power applications permitting a maximum voltage of 400 volts peak. The OWON instruments have an analogue bandwidth of DC to 20 MHz (HDS1022M) and 60 MHz (HDS2062M) and has maximum sampling rate of 100 MS/s (HDS1022M) and 250 MS/s (HDS2062M).
Both channels feature an 8 bit A/D converter providing synchronous sampling, have a 6 kW data record capacity and utilise an interpolation function between data points of sin x/x. Scanning speeds range from 5 ns/div to 5 s/div. Vertical sensitivity ranges from 5 mV/div to 5 V/div and both AC and DC input modes are available.
The triggering system supports NTSC, PAL and SECAM. Post and pre-triggering is provided (655 divisions for pre- and 4 divisions for post-triggering). Mathematical functions include DV and Dt, peak-to-peak, average, and RMS value as well as frequency and period measurement.
The multimeter feature makes use of the oscilloscope display to show analogue meter-needle readouts to provide an instinctive feel to the measurement while showing a digital value at the same time. Parameters measured include AC and DC voltage (1000 V DC; 750 V AC—rms equivalent), current (to 20 A AC), resistance (to 40 meg ohm), capacitance (to 100 micro farad) and diode function.
The 9.7 cm liquid crystal display has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and 4096 colours. A full range of ancillaries is available including a serial port data exchange cable and operating instructions on CD.
