Hioki EE Corporation have developed the safety HiTESTER Model 3258 which provides electricians a safe and convenient means of measuring voltages in circuit breaker compartments and other control cabinets.
The Hioki Model 3258 utilises a novel technology to compensate for the inaccuracies caused by coupling capacitance based on a voltage comparator principle and is available from Power Parameters .
The Hioki Model 3258 HiTESTER probes are optimised for LV measurements to 600V AC, utilising a two-probe method to measure phase voltage to neutral/ground and also phase-to-phase. Measurements can be made on insulated cables from 38mm2 upwards and on busbars as well as terminals.
The Hioki Model 3258 HiTESTER can be used without removing the breaker covers in order to access metallic contacts thereby increasing the instrument operators’ safety as well as speeding up servicing procedures by being able to keep apparatus live during the entire measurement procedure.
For typical LV three-phase circuits, accuracy is ±1.5% of reading ± 5 digits. For frequencies to 400 Hz accuracy is ±2.5% of reading ± 5 digits making the Hioki 3258 also suitable for avionics work.
