THE new, battery-operated Hioki 3455 high voltage insulation tester is suited to industrial environment as it has large range of testing voltages including 250, 500, 1000, 2500 and 5000 volts dc.
Available from Power Parameters , the instrument measures insulation resistance to 5 Tera-ohm or leakage current down to 1 nanoampere. The Hioki 3455 also measures polarisation index and dielectric absorption index.
Live circuit measurement is provided to 750 volts ac and 1000 volts dc. Display of parameters is via a back-lit LCD with both digital and bar graph readout.
After each measurement there is automatic discharge of the object under test. The timer function, utilised for the indices can also be used for automatically stepping the testing voltage from 500 volts in 500 volt steps to 2500 volt, or alternatively in 1000 volt steps from 1000 volts to 5000 volts.
Timer steps are adjustable from 30 seconds to 30 minutes. The instrument is provided with temperature compensation whereby measured results are displayed in equivalent resistance values to the reference temperatures compatible to ten standard insulation materials.
Measured data memory can store up to 3600 measurements in interval recording. A USB port allows for data transfer and PC comms and report editing software is supplied as standard.
The Hioki 3455 complies with International Safety Standards Cat IV 600 V and Cat III 1000 V.
