Polex has released an impressive range of ducting, suitable for high vacuum dust extraction applications. All joining clamps for this ductwork provide completely air-tight connections to resist against the high air vacuum present.
Conventional light gauge ducting is unsuitable for high vacuum applications because the seams and joins will leak under the high vacuum. Conventional ducting is used on average for vacuums between 2kPa and 3kPa, whereas high vacuum ducting is used on average for vacuums between 15kPa and 30kPa.
Duct thickness in the high vacuum ducting is considerably thicker than conventional low pressure ducting systems to prevent duct collapse.
Polex’s high vacuum ductwork systems are ideally suited to small diameter ducts (typically 32mm to 75mm diameter), and are used for many applications, for example, in the food powders industry.
Polex is offering the high vacuum ducting in mild steel and stainless steel (grade 304 & 316). Alongside Polex’s range of high vacuum ducting, is its existing range of conventional light gauge lockseam and spiral ducting.
