Springwood kitchen manufacturer, Blue Mountains Kitchens decided recently for Polex Environmental Engineering to supply and install a dust extraction system at their factory to extract and filter timber dust from each of their wood working machines.
After a thorough analysis of the airflow requirements of each machine, Polex selected a 40 m² modular shaker type dust collector and a 7.5 kW fan to supply the necessary filtration and airflow for a dust free environment within the factory. The timber waste is collected in two 120 L Sulo bins positioned under the dust collector hoppers.
The shaker dust collector was supplied with tubular bag filters to provide effective release of timber dust during each cleaning cycle. The filters are made using heavy duty antistatic Polyester needlefelt media. The filters are supported inside the dust collector by a common frame. A vibrating motor is directly mounted to the frame which provides a vigorous shaking motion and assists the filters releasing the dust when the fan is stopped. Shaker type dust collectors are suited to applications where the wood working machines are operated intermittently.
Rigid folded and bolted 1.5 mm thick Galvanised sheetmetal panels are used to construct Polex Modular Shaker dust collectors. The sheetmetal panels provide the necessary strength and durability to withstand strong fan suction and industrial environments.
Support structures for the shaker dust collectors are fabricated from 100 x 100 RHS steel. The legs are hot dip Galvanised to provide long lasting corrosion protection.
