A non-profit organisation, the Plastics Industry Manufacturers of Australia (PIMA) is the leading industry body representing moulders of plastics and other polymer materials in Australia.

PIMA was established in 1991 to foster a vibrant, efficient and innovative plastics industry for the benefit of Australia's youth and seek to unit the industry, academia and government.

The organisation's main activity focuses on the development of training programs and it seeks to influence training bodies such as:
  • NSW Industry Training Advisory Board
  • Department of Education and Training
  • TAFE and universities in the development of nationally accredited training materials
Making a difference to benefit manufacturers in the plastics industry
PIMA seeks to make a difference in various areas:
  • provide greater knowledge via technical seminars and industry
  • engaging and networking with similar associations in Australia and internationally
  • education program development
  • enhancing the profile and image of moulding and plastics industry
  • PIMA seeks to be the social epicentre of the plastics industry
  • facilitate access to government assistance programs and information resources
