Minister for Sport and Recreation, Gabrielle Upton today joined Venues NSW Chairman John Quayle and Pirtek Fluid Systems CEO Stephen Dutton to announce Pirtek as the new naming rights sponsor for the iconic Parramatta Stadium.
Pirtek and Venues NSW have signed a five-year deal with a further option. According to Ms Upton, with a long history as home of the Parramatta Eels, the Stadium continues to attract record crowds with the Western Sydney Wanderers as co-tenants. She commented that it added up to significant economic benefits for Western Sydney local businesses, with the flow-on effect of ticket sales and visitor spending.
Geoff Lee, Member for Parramatta described the deal as an exciting partnership for the iconic sporting ground with over 260,000 people having walked through the gates over the 2012-13 season.
Stephen Dutton explained that Pirtek commenced its business in Western Sydney 33 years ago; it remains their spiritual homeland in spite of the company expanding both nationally and internationally. He added that branding on this iconic stadium in a long term deal with Venues NSW was a logical step as it fitted in well with their national branding strategy.
Mr Dutton said that Pirtek has been privileged to enjoy a great association with the Parramatta Eels over the last nine years and looks forward to continuing to work closely with the club. Pirtek is also proud to continue their support of the community in Western Sydney.
