Pioneer Computers Australia launches whiteboards and iPen presentation tool

Supplier News

PC hardware vendor, Pioneer Computers Australia , is looking to strengthen its presence in the education market with a new series of products.

Pioneer Computers Australia has launched a range of whiteboards and the iPen - a presentation tool that allows users to alter the content of a file, write or sketch on a screen, position the cursor and select icons.

Pioneer Computers Australia revealed that the iPen range, along with the launch of its low-cost notebook for education users 10 months ago, highlighted its increased focus on the education space.

"From the start of last year we've seen a lot of opportunity in education. It represents less than 10% of our business at the moment - we're hoping to grow that to 20%," according to Pioneer Computers Australia.

Pioneer Computers Australia is involved in government panels and is looking to grow its 200-strong base of resellers involved in education.

Pioneer Computers Australia said local schools prefer to work with local dealers, so extra resellers would be brought on-board to improve geographic reach.

Pioneer Computers Australia pointed out that while the Federal Government's Digital Education Revolution initiatives were generating big budgets for IT in schools, there was confusion in the channel when it came to integration.

"Local schools have no money to set up the necessary infrastructure to support the influx of computers and other technology. There's some debate between state and federal government on who is willing to pay for that infrastructure," Pioneer Computers Australia said.
