PIONEER Computers Australia have become Microsoft OEM partners. According to them, the partnership would benefit their channel in terms of getting a better price for software and support. The partnership will also give them a bridge overseas, by which they can break into the emerging markets in South America, the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East.
PIONEER Computers Australia have been working with Microsoft for the last 10 years, purchasing software through their OEM distribution channel. The new partnership allows them to purchase Vista, Windows XP, Office 2007, Windows Server 2007 and Windows Server 2008 directly from Microsoft.
Microsoft Director of OEM, Carolyn Darke, said that the partnership also allowed PIONEER Computers Australia to participate in co-operative marketing programmes, PC testing in design phases and other joint initiatives.
Darke added that PIONEER Computers Australia’s mobility solution capabilities were a key factor behind the new partnership. The two companies can work together to deliver the Windows platform in the new netbook category, in which PIONEER Computers Australia have some quality customer offerings.
