VISITORS to the SPS/IPC/DRIVES fair in Nuremberg voted the new Pilz PNOZmulti safety relay the winner of the coveted Automation Award.
The Pilz PNOZmulti was the most popular of ten products nominated for the award sponsored by the German periodical Electro Automation.
The top five (in rank order) were: Pilz PNOZmulti, ABB's wireless inductive sensor, Indradrive from Bosch Rexroth, Schneider Electric's Osiris XUX, and Simotion D from Siemens A&D.
Due for release in Australia early this year, the Pilz PNOZmulti safety relay features a Windows-style PC interface that allows users to simply "drag and drop" different safety functions into place and enter the operating parameters.
No programming expertise is needed to configure a system controlling up to 14 safety functions, such as safety gates, light curtains and e-stop buttons.
Pilz Australia's Frank Schrever said the relay offered many functions in one solution.
“It's freely configurable and child's play to operate."
