PILZ has released the PSENcode non-contact coded safety switch for safety gate monitoring. It satisfies Category 4 of AS4024.1 and the definite assignment of a switch and its counterpart makes it almost impossible to defeat the safety gate.
A fully coded version of the switch is also available for particularly demanding safety applications.
Ten safety switches can be connected in a series that meets Category 4 requirements, making it suitable for complex plants and minimising the amount of wiring involved.
It is quick and easy to install as there is no need to wire a second switch. Five directions of actuation and a switching distance of at least 17mm ensure maximum flexibility during installation.
It is IP67-rated, dust-resistant and waterproof. It can be used in the pharmaceutical and food industries as well as in metal processing plants. The PSENcode expands the Pilz range of non-contact magnetic safety switches. It complements safe monitoring technology, including safe PNOZ relays, PSS programmable safety systems and the SafetyBUS p open bus system.
