The automation system PSS 4000 was selected by the Dutch province of Zuid-Holland during the upgrade of their sluices and bridges to the latest control technology.  

Bridges and sluice systems must be automated to an optimum level to allow traffic to be guided through quickly, safely and without delay. Monitoring of sluices and bridges ensures safe infrastructure.  

The control system PSSuniversal PLC within the sluice complex co-ordinates all the functions on the sluice and bridge system and even monitors subsystems. Designed to offer simple operation, PSS 4000 automation system allows the entire sluice to be operated using just five pushbuttons against up to 40 pushbuttons required previously.  

The PSS 4000 automation system helps in the handling of 9,000 commercial boats and 17,000 leisure boats annually.  

The PSS 4000 automation system consists of various hardware and software components in addition to real-time Ethernet SafetyNET p and corresponding network components. The network components are closely compatible, providing the ideal solution for any automation project.
