Photometric Solutions International provides a range of specialised photometric equipment for customised applications.

Transient Signal Photometers

  • A transient signal photometer measures the luminous intensity of a source as a function of time
  • Applications can range from very rapid sources such as camera flashes to slower, longer term transient sources such as rotating beacons, pyrotechnic flare intensity and maritime warning lamps
  • Statistical information can be derived from the data, for example the peak width, effective intensity, luminous energy, etc
  • With the addition of a spectroradiometer the chromaticity (colour) can also be logged as a function of time




Optical Benches

  • We have manufactured optical benches (optical rails) for a wide variety of UV and visible applications
  • These can range from fully automatic to fully manual, of various lengths as required
  • Software automates the measurement by recording the signal as a function of time to monitor stability and then averaging over many measurements to reduce the measurement uncertainty

Ideally used for calibration of light meters (luxmeters) and radiometers or making luminous intensity standards, they can come with optional accessories including:

  • Laser alignment
  • Manual or motorised X, Y, Z and rotary stages
  • A variety of light sources

LED Ganzfeld

  • The FS-250A LED Ganzfeld is a powerful R&D tool, highly recommended for University departments and research institutes studying the fundamentals of vision
  • It consists of a 200mm diameter sphere internally coated with a high reflectance diffuse white paint; and illumination is provided by internal arrays of white high intensity LEDs
  • Software provided with the system enables the operator to provide a continuous background luminance to set adaptation level and also programme in the required pulse stimulus pattern with a variety of options and programming functions

Tunnel Entrance Photometer

  • The TEP-2.0 Tunnel Entrance Photometer is a measurement system to assist in the energy efficient lighting of tunnel entrance portals
  • It is installed in front of the tunnel, normally at one safe stopping sight distance from the portal
  • It provides an output signal which is proportional to the luminance in the 20° field of view around the tunnel portal
  • This signal can be used to vary the luminance of the transition zone of the tunnel in line with the surrounding luminance
