These high intensity LED reference standards are temperature stabilised and supplied with a highly repeatable drive current through integrated electronics. The casing is acetyl to minimise thermal conductivity and therefore to assist with thermal stability.
They are available in cool white, warm white, blue, green, yellow and red. Most importantly, they come with their own 9V power adapter which can operate in most mains power environments worldwide (100-250V 50/60 Hz), or it can be operated by a DC power supply at 8 to 10 V DC.
The repeatability of luminous flux output is typically better than 0.1% in standard operating conditions (the yellow LED is highly ambient-temperature sensitive). The sources are all 2 wide-beam which provides a great deal of flexibility in use, particularly in integrating spheres and goniophotometers.
Typical applications for these high intensity LED reference standards include:
- calibration of integrating sphere photometers
- use as auxiliary LEDs for integrating spheres
- calibration and verification of LED goniophotometers
- transfer standards; and
- laboratory intercomparisons and proficiency testing.
