PCME (UK) (recent winner of prestigious Queens Award for innovation) has released an instrument to its range of particulate monitoring solutions: the LMS 181.
LMS 181 uses innovative forward light scatter (pro-scatter) measurement technology to produce a continuous measurement of stack particulate emissions. Compliant to US EPA standard for PM-CEMS (PS-11) and European WID (waste incineration directive) EN14181.
The LMS 181 measures the amount of scattered forward light from a laser light source.
The amount of scattered light is proportional to dust concentration and PCME’s patented measurement method increases the instruments signal to noise ratio giving high stability even at low dust concentrations (<0.1mg/m3)
Upscale (span) and zero checks are conducted automatically within the instrument ensuring appropriate quality assurance and regulatory requirements are met.
The instrument will work reliably in high dust applications due to the extended use of air curtains to protect optical surfaces.
The instrument’s design is inherently reliable by avoiding the use of fibre optics (which age with temperature) and the need for movement of detectors for self-checks.
The LMS 181 is supplied with a robust user interface. The multi-controller is an industrially hardened display and recording system that provides advanced user interface and sensor configuration
The multi-controller can be connected to a LAN or PC network for data management and recording. The LMS 181 is available from Phoenix Instrumentation.
