THE ME bus housings from Phoenix Contact make bus connections easy, and also save time. A cross connector anchored in the bottom of the housing makes the connections when the housings are simply aligned and snap-mounted on standardised mounting rails.
The five or ten-pin cross-connector is equally appropriate for transmission of bus signals and for power supply. By using two additional contacts, series feedthrough is possible in addition to parallel.
This means the input signals can be processed by way of the printed-circuit board. Gold-plated contacts guarantee high transmission reliability, with the former complex parallel wiring no longer being needed.
To allow the electronic devices to be configured, the housing upper part and the printed-circuit board can be withdrawn as a complete unit, without interruption of the bus connection.
The ME bus housings with the additional series contacts can be supplied in widths of 17.5mm or 22.5mm.
The connection method can be selected from permanent printed-circuit terminal blocks or plug connectors in either screw or spring-cage versions, for conductors up to 2.5mm2. Phoenix Contact 02 9524 4455.
