NATIONAL valve and pipe fittings specialist Philmac has been awarded a major quality accreditation as the company continues to prove its excellence in manufacturing and customer service.
Philmac has achieved the certificate to ISO9001-2000, reflecting the extensive focus on quality and modern business practices that have been adopted by the company over the years.
Customer needs are a core element of the accreditation, which recognises Philmac's attention to performance targets and communication of customer and company requirements to staff.
Other elements include regular monitoring and review of performance to ensure improvement in all aspects affecting the quality of products and services provided to customers.
Philmac's enterprise development manager, Sally MacDonald-Taylor, said the certification was yet another step in Philmac's "ongoing quality journey".
Philmac was partnered in its achievement of ISO9001-2000 by quality consulting group SAI Global, with the assistance of quality systems assessor Ian Paterson.
"The ISO9001-2000 standard is one of the most widely recognised and used standards in the world today," Mr Paterson said. "With the awarding of certification to the standard, Philmac has achieved an internationally recognised level of business excellence."
