PERMA-TEC, represented by HTL Perma Australia , has released an automated chain lubrication system.
The Perma ECOSY (Electronic Controlled Oil System) is a programmable lubrication system which automatically dispenses chain lubricant to up to six individually-metered outlets.
The dispensing rate for each outlet is set with a touch pad. The unit delivers up to one litre of oil to each point every 1000 hours. Each of the six outlets can deliver oil via lines up to 10m long.
The lubricant reservoir holds seven litres, is refillable, and is fitted with a low level alarm. The ECOSY can operate independently or can be configured for PLC control, depending on the operational demands of the machinery which is to be lubricated.
Power transmission chains usually require small amounts of lubricant to be applied at regular, short intervals. To achieve this via manual lubrication is not practical due to the high cost of labour. Applying large volumes of lubricant is counterproductive.
Lack of lubrication will lead to rapid wear between the pin and bushings which result in chain elongation and eventually failure.
The system is suitable for the food and beverage manufacturing industries, where it can be filled with synthetic food-grade lubricants.
