Available from Perfect Packaging , the AluScan metal detection system only detects “the rest-magnetism”, ensuring reliable detection of the smallest stainless steel and ferrous metal contamination. The AluScan is suitable for detecting contamination in products packed in Aluminium, for example; ready meals, pies, tartlets, snack products, chocolate, chewing gum and soup sachets.
The products presented for inspection by the AluScan metal detection system travel along the conveyor through a permanent magnet, where it is magnetised and carried over the magnetic sensor bed.
An additional sensor can be placed above the product to ensure an accurate level of detection for products over 50mm. The magnetic sensors do not “see” the aluminium packaging as aluminium can not be magnetised, therefore any products contaminated with ferrous and/or stainless steel are detected and automatically rejected by the reject mechanism. This activity is completed without interruption of the production process.
The AluScan metal detection system is now capable of operation in wet environments in the food industry. The control system is now located separately, making the metal detectors more user friendly and easier to work with.
