PEACOCK Bros’ label printer/applicators with twin tamp systems are specifically engineered to print a pair of labels and apply them to adjacent panels of cartons in a single operation.
This automated label application solution applies barcode, shipping, SSCC or product labels to two sides of the carton or product allowing for easy scanning and product identification. In many cases, SSCC labels must be applied to two sides of the carton to be received by companies such as Safeway and Coles.
Peacock Bros’ twin tamp systems are available with a choice of Zebra Technologies’ print engines to provide 2003dpi or 300dpi label imprinting.
Handling a range of label sizes up to 152mm wide and 152mm long, each system can print information at speeds up to 304mm per second. The label placement is accurate to .76mm.
How does the twin tamp system work?
When the initial label is printed and peeled from its liner, it is fed onto a tamp pad (label handling plate) and retained by a vacuum.
The tamp pad is mounted to a 90° swing arm that reaches across a conveyor to blow the label on the front panel of a moving carton.
Upon the arm's return, a second label is printed and held by the tamp and a separate straight-line stroke applies that label to the side of the carton.
These twin tamp label printer applicators can also be configured to apply labels to the side and rear of the carton’s panels to suit production line or warehouse requirements.
