Peacock Bros have released the new Primera FX400 in-house foil imprinting system capable of automatically applying shiny gold and silver film to inkjet printed labels.
The Primera FX400 in-house foil imprinting system is an optional accessory to LX-series colour label printers applying shiny gold and silver borders, fonts and graphics to inkjet-printed labels. The effect is identical to the traditional metallic hot-stamp technology, adding shiny highlights to labels. Since the process is fully digital, there are no set-up charges. Any design can be printed.
According to Peacock Bros, adding shiny gold and silver graphics to labels increase the visibility on the retail shelf and getting noticed means more sales making it easy to cost-justify. Products that can benefit from shiny metallic borders and graphics include wine, speciality and fancy foods and high-end gift items.
Clear film for FX400 in-house foil imprinting system is also available. When printed onto inkjet-printed labels, it adds a glossy finish and also makes labels waterproof. Additionally, the clear film adds UV resistance to printed output, allowing longer exposure to natural and artificial light sources. Primera’s PTFoil software is included with the FX400 in-house foil imprinting system. The Primera’s PTFoil software makes it fast and easy to combine two different graphics, one for inkjet printing and the other for foil imprinting on the same label.
The FX400 in-house foil imprinting system also includes a powder-coated metal stand for holding the LX-series inkjet printer and the FX400 imprinter. The stand keeps both units suitably aligned during production and allows a ‘loose loop’ between the two printers.
