Particle & Surface Sciences proudly announces the selection of NanoSight for the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category for International Trade 2012.
A fast-growing biotechnology company in the UK, NanoSight is a leading manufacturer of unique nanoparticle characterization technology. The Queen’s Award is the latest in a series of awards received by NanoSight over the past twelve months, including the Technology World 2011 Business Innovation Award presented by Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and President of the Board of Trade.
NanoSight was also named the UK’s fastest growing biotechnology company by Deloitte.
Founded in 2004 by Dr Bob Carr and John Knowles, NanoSight has grown sales by around 70% annually, year on year since 2005, and now employs 25 people in the UK. The firm sells its products all over the world, with around 90% of its sales outside the UK. There are now more than 450 NanoSight instruments in use worldwide.
Looking forward, the company expects to sustain growth in the coming years with their Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) technology becoming increasingly important in nanomaterial characterization.
