OLEO-Mac is well regarded locally for their wide range of larger chainsaws. They have just released a new top handle chainsaw, the 925.
Available through Australian distributor, Parklands Power Products , this model is ideal as a pruning saw and for use in arbor maintenance.
This lightweight (2.8kg) unit is compact and well balanced for operator comfort.
The unit’s large ergonomic handgrip and special anti-vibration system, with three rubber supports, makes extended use a lot easier on the operator.
Features include an “easy-on” start-up system, with double springs for quick starts without engine kickback. This is assisted by a solid state digital ignition.
The enhanced nylon air filter keeps fine dust from entering the carburettor. The filter is easy to clean and keeps its filtering capacity for a long time.
A primer device assists start-up when engine is cold and after long periods of downtime.
Other features include an adjustable mechanical oil pump to allow the user to adjust this for the type of wood, working temperature, lubricant used and other work requirements.
The 925 is powered by a 25.4cm3 engine, which provides 1.2hp (0.9kw) of power, more than enough for the toughest pruning job.
The chain tensioner is located on the side of the chain cover for easier access and faster tensioning.
The automatic oil pump is driven by the clutch drum to allow the oil to be pumped only while working.
For added safety, a palm safety lever on the handle prevents involuntary acceleration.
The unit comes with a lanyard hook for hanging — ideal for use when the operator climbs up a tree.
An optional carving bar with stellite tip can be used with a 1/4” chain for finer and more accurate cuts.
