PARKLANDS Power Products has released the Vessol petrol engine impact wrench.
It is designed for areas where mains power is unavailable or where the use of generators or pneumatics is not practical. It is capable of 1.86kW of power and has a standard 25.4mm drive. The unit can handle a 32mm diameter bolt and has a fastening torque range of 550N to 1030N.
A push button selects between its two speeds, 1030N at full-throttle and around 800N at half-throttle. It is powered by a Tanaka Purefire 47cc engine, which significantly cuts emissions. Compared to standard four stroke engines it produces up to 70% less CO and up to 300% less CO2.
It has a front and back handle, is compact and easily transportable, weighs 18kg, and comes in a bright yellow carry case. A safety clutch allows easy engagement and disengagement. An emergency on/off switch provides the operator with extra protection.
Applications include removing wheels on large equipment, opening valves at dams, mines or refineries, tightening and loosening nuts and bolts at mine sites, oil, water and gas pipelines, bridge building, general construction, and railroads.
