JAPANESE two-stroke manufacturer Tanaka expands its chainsaw offering with several new models, including a professional 50 cm3 saw, the ECV-5601.

Available through Parklands Power Products , its exclusive Australian distributor, the unit features an automatic decompression system for fast and easy starting. This means that the user will need 70% less force to start the unit.

Powerful and ruggedly built, the ECV-5601 produces 3.4 hp (2.5 kW) of power but weighs only 5.1 kg. This is enough to easily handle a bar up to 18" in length and be dubbed a real "workhorse".

An extremely dependable saw, the unit has lightweight magnesium chassis for added strength. The ECV-5601 also features a chrome-plated cylinder and two piston rings, for better performance and longer life.

The unit's capability to take the toughest sawing jobs makes the ECV-5601 an ideal tool for the farmer, council worker, tree feller, and commercial operator.

A unique dust rejection filtration system generates turbo force, to keep dust away from the carburetor. An external chain adjuster makes this an easy task for the user, compared to more conventional saws.

The ECV-5601 has a host of safety features which include inertia chain brake, hand guards and chain catcher.

The operator is not forgotten, as this unit has an advanced anti-vibration system, to make it easier for the user during periods of extended use.

The remote fuel tank allows easy starting, after long use especially when the chainsaw is hot.
