Grasshopper’s new 620T front mount zero-turn radius mowers are now available, with in-line transmission system as standard.
Recently lauded for pioneering innovation by Parker-Hannifin, the T2 drive system features tandem pumps in reservoir in-line transmission, which provides efficient transfer of engine power to the cutting deck, coupling engine to transmission, without the use of belts and pulleys.
The front mounts are now faster as a result: 8.5 mph (13.7 kmph) forward and 5.5 mph (8.9 kmph) in reverse.
Co-designed by Grasshopper and Parker-Hannifin, the T2 In-Line Drive System utilises fewer moving parts and features high-torque Parker wheel motors, a replaceable, high-efficiency 7-micron absolute filter and in-line CoolFan hydro-cooling system for reliability and long service life.
Powered by 20 hp V-Twin Kohler Command petrol engines, these units can easily work 1.13 hectares (2.8 acres) per hour. The 620T comes with the choice of a 48” or 52” Dura-Max side discharge cutting deck.
Like all Grasshopper models, these units are comfortable, with less vibration, better legroom, with Shock Impact Reduction System (SIRS). The highback seat is fully-padded, with lumbar support and padded armrests, and is complemented by coil spring suspension for reduced operator fatigue.
According to Ron Zacka from Parklands, each Grasshopper mower drives like a car, but is as tough as a truck. All units are solidly built, with 10 gauge steel deck, extra 7-gauge reinforcement and 7 gauge formed skirts.
With total control at faster mowing speeds, the operator can change hand, arm, leg and body positions without having to slow down. The low profile and low centre of gravity provide exceptional stability at high speeds.
Like other Grasshopper mowers, the 620T features the coolest running capability to take Australia’s extreme temperatures—the highest temperature specification available from the manufacturer.
All Grasshoppers feature deep decks to process more grass much faster, without blocking, to get the job done faster and more efficiently. Dual function, full-floating decks provide the option of side discharge or mulching.
Also available from Parklands Power Products is the larger front mount range of zero-turns, the 727K, with more powerful 27 hp engines.
