Parker Hannifin announces that their Australian manufactured products are Australian Made Certified and bear the famous green and gold symbol.
By manufacturing in Australia, the hydraulic hose manufacturer proudly supports local jobs in the present challenging times. Parker’s state-of-the-art facility at Wodonga in regional Victoria is now the hub of the company’s manufacturing activities throughout the Australasian region. The manufacturing centre of excellence boasts a first class training facility capable of providing high quality product and technical training.
Employing more than 120 people, the 11,000m² factory is registered with the ‘Australian Made’ Campaign and licensed to display its Federal Government-approved logo.
The Parker Wodonga plant is situated on a four-hectare site ideally located on the Hume Highway between Sydney and Melbourne, with orders dispatched daily to major centres around Australia and New Zealand.
The plant produces a wide range of products including hydraulic hose, PVC hose and steel fittings, brass and stainless steel fittings, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, gear pumps, control valves and manifolds.
Parker Wodonga’s quality management systems are certified to ISO 9001:2008 by international ratings body Det Norske Veritas.
The manufacturing facility was recently expanded with the installation of a new hydraulic hose braider, allowing greater efficiency and higher product output to meet increasing customer demand. The plant is also producing a comprehensive range of PVC hose after Parker relocated its Adelaide plant to Wodonga in mid-2011.
Following the relocation of its Auckland, New Zealand plant to Wodonga in early 2012, the facility can now also manufacture more than two million hose fittings and adapters annually.
Parker Wodonga’s new in-house plating service, offering plating and dispatch within 24 hours employs an environment-friendly Chromium 6 Free plating process providing superior rust and corrosion protection.
Customers can also take advantage of a ‘Rapid Response’ service that can quote, design, manufacture and plate steel, brass or stainless steel fittings to meet short lead-times.
According to Parker Hannifin’s Localization Manager – Fluid Connectors, Greg Dingle, Parker Wodonga’s significant expansion is a real vote of confidence in the strength of Australian manufacturing and the quality of its employees.
