Competition spotlights global student innovation

PTC Australia, the product development company, today announced a call for entries for the PTC Worldwide Student Design Challenge. The program is sponsored by the PTC Education Program and gives students the opportunity to showcase their achievements in product design using PTC Pro/ENGINEER or Pro/DESKTOP. The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2007.

Eligible students from the Americas, EMEA and Asia may enter the competition in one of the following age groups:

Group 1: 13 years and younger

Group 2: 14 – 18 years

Group 3: 19 years and older

To be eligible, the contestant(s) must be part of a school currently enrolled in the PTC Education Program. The contestant must be a registered student in the 2006-2007 school year. In addition, the contestants must be sponsored by a teacher at their school.

An expert panel of judges will determine the finalists in each category. Prizes will be awarded to one winning Pro/ENGINEER and one Pro/DESKTOP design per age group in each region. In addition, one grand champion will be selected among all category winners to receive ‘The Innovators Award’. All registered contestants who submit a project will receive a certificate of recognition for participating in the competition.

*        Beauty/Attractiveness/Coolness

Prizes include:

PTC shirts/hats

Seats of Pro/ENGINEER

Secondary School - 35 seat, two year license of Pro/ENGINEER Schools Advanced Edition

University - one year site license of the University Plus Edition

Winner Certificate and Plaque

Grand Prize Winner - Invitation to the PTC World Conference for their defined region.
