Panasonic Australia have expanded their reliable Toughbook range with the launch of the new Panasonic CF-52 - a semi-rugged desktop alternative for the mobile user. The CF-52 is the first such notebook in the Panasonic Toughbook range, bridging the gap between fully rugged and business rugged notebooks.
The CF-52 has been purpose-built for the business user requiring a flexible, high performance notebook solution both in the office and out on the road.
The semi-rugged CF-52 combines sleek style, powerful speed and Panasonic’s renowned tough capabilities. It is the first model in the Toughbook range to feature a 15.4 inch widescreen display, for better group presentations and improved productivity. It has a long battery life of over eight hours and is wireless–ready, allowing users to work anywhere.
Building on 15 years of Toughbook heritage, the CF-52 has the features of a tough, magnesium alloy case and a convenient carry handle for easy mobility. It has a shock-mounted, quick release HDD for extra data security and can withstand a fall of 76cm. In addition, it features a moisture and dust resistant keyboard and touchpad to protect important data against accidental spills.
According to John Wood, Group Manager, Toughbook, Panasonic Australia, the CF-52 semi-rugged Toughbook bridges the gap in the rugged notebook range, providing a more extensive line-up to suit varying business needs. The CF-52 has a powerful processor allowing it to run complex desktop applications yet is lightweight and mobile in the field.
Incorporating Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo processor technology, the CF-52 has enhanced video and graphics capabilities, increased drive capacity at 160GB and Wi-Fi performance expanded to include 802.11 Draft N. WiFi is installed as standard, with optional WWAN (3G), so business users can remain connected anywhere.
The new CF-52 is equipped with enhanced security features, including the Trusted Platform module (TPM v1.2) security chip, and an optional fingerprint scanner and SmartCard reader. Panasonic Toughbooks can be used by field workers and mobile professionals throughout the world.
