Pacific Hoseflex introduce the new PTFE polypropylene braided hoses: An ideal alternative to stainless steel. Pacific Hose Flex was recently face with two challenges from two customers both requiring a similar solution.
The first challenge was the transference of dematerialized (distilled) water in a high voltage situation. The 1” hose was subjected to a constant 11,000 volt difference between each end. Traditional use of 304 stainless steel or 316 stainless steel was unsuitable due to it’s low electrical resistivity. The second challenge was a highly corrosive environment which would have been detrimental Stainless Steel and therefore hose integrity.
Pacific Hoseflex rose to both challenges with a singular solution-PTFE polypropylene braided hoses. These hoses offer the following key features:
- The high electrical resistance of PTFE and polypropylene in the braided hoses makes them ideal for use in a high voltage situation
- Increased flexibility and pressure capabilities of PTFE polypropylene braided hoses in comparison to the original equipment manufacturers product will ensure a significant increase in the hose lifespan
- Polypropylene and PTFE are also very resistant to corrosion making them suitable for an environment which is detrimental to stainless steel
