Pacific Data Systems supplied a marine weather station to a North Queensland port authority to help ensure safer shipping through the busy shipping channel.

Designed and manufactured in Pacific Data System’s Brisbane facility to endure the harsh and remote marine environment, the marine weather station uses precision weather sensors from Vaisala and Gill Instruments to record wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity and barometric pressure.

The integrated 3G modem attached to the dataTaker DT80 data logger, allows port authority staff to access the weather data remotely and use the information in their daily operational decisions.

Pacific Data Systems sub-contracted the on-site installation of the station to Brisbane-based Lamdatron that specialises in weather station installations in remote regions.
