However, in the past the use of Power Team tools and equipment has been limited in underground applications due to exposed aluminium surfaces, particularly on pump valving. In order to better service the needs of Australia’s mining industry, Power Team now has a steel plate to cover all aluminium surfaces on Power Team PA6D pumps. The new powder coated steel cover fits neatly over the entire valve section and simply bolts directly to the PA6D. The cover completely covers the aluminium components ensuring there is no sparking hazard hence allowing use in underground applications.
Pt Hydraulics Australia are also in the process of developing a replacement PA6 pedal made from steel enabling this pump to be used more extensively in the mining industry.
