Just the thought of mingling with international household names such as the fashion houses Christian Dior and Fendi may make some fashionistas weak at the knees. It’s an ideal job for some and a dream come true for others, but for PSG Australia , it’s just another day at the office.
PSG Australia is a Quality Endorsed Company providing security, investigative and training services throughout Australia. Other clients of the security specialist include Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Tiffany & Co, Christian Dior, Fendi and Moet & Chandon.
In a recent study by the Australian Institute of Criminology, 49 per cent of all businesses surveyed reported they had experienced crime in the previous year. The average cost of crime against a business was nearly $5,000. These crimes included fraud, burglary, shoplifting and theft, robbery, arson and malicious damage.
These findings have prompted PSG Australia to call for businesses to review their security measures and to identify opportunities to improve security.
According to PSG Australia, the four conditions that must be in place for a crime to occur are: an offender, a victim, an opportunity and a location.
To combat crime, the security expert suggests businesses reduce the number of motivated offenders, make crime more difficult to commit and anticipate new types of crime and find ways to stop them occurring.
PSG Australia is working together with its clients to help reduce crime. The security specialist advises businesses to determine and assess risks to their trade and to then identify the steps needed to reduce these risks.
Security consultant to some of the world’s biggest fashion houses, PSG Australia’s experience has seen it work from gate house access control at some of Australia’s busiest ports to personal bodyguard protection for international fashion models.
