Leading UK trainer Andy Verwer will conduct a series of accredited Profibus training courses this November in Perth and Brisbane. These courses are being organised by the Profibus Association of Australia & New Zealand (PAA) in conjunction with the Profibus International Training Centre (PITC) and follow on from the hugely successful courses conducted earlier by Verwer.
Andy Verwer has over 30 years of experience working and teaching in the automation and control industry and is a key member of the Profibus International organization in the UK.
Over 200 Profibus graduates in Australia have attended a training seminar conducted by Andy Verwer.
The courses include:
- A one-day Certified Profibus Installer Course
- Aone-day Profibus Commissioning & Maintenance Course
- A three-day Certified Profibus Engineer Course
These courses can be taken separately or joined together in a week of certified Profibus training. The Perth sessions will be held at the ATI Mirage and commence November 9. The same series of courses will be held at the Rendezvous hotel in Brisbane and commence November 16.
The Installer and Engineer Courses both include theory and practical tests. These are accredited through Profibus International Competency Centre (PICC) at Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK. The names of all graduates are placed on the Profibus International website.
The Installer Course provides an essential prerequisite for the other courses, or it can be taken on its own for those who just need to know about the physical layout and wiring. A Profibus Installer is recognised throughout the industry as someone who is competent to layout, install, repair and test Profibus wiring.
The Commissioning & Maintenance Course teaches participants how to use a modern Class1/2 master, analyser and oscilloscope to exercise, verify devices and health check working networks.
The Engineer Course is the flagship qualification from Profibus International. It covers the detailed operation of Profibus networks and covers all aspects of the protocol involved in DP and PA systems (DPV0 and DPV1). The Installer Course and the Commissioning & Maintenance Course are prerequisites for the Engineer Course.
Past graduates of Verwer’s certified training programmes attribute their understanding and enjoyment of these courses to his balanced curriculums. Verwer has successfully blended theory with industry examples and supplemented that with practical exercises within a class buddy system, enabling a supportive, hands-on learning experience.
