P.T. Automation Solutions have accepted the Mayors Innovation Award June 08 for the work carried out in Austria on a world first dual sided EPS pallet manufacturing facility that produces completed pallets in less than 90 seconds.
P.T. Automation Solutions’ team was responsible for the electrical concept, detailed design, CAD drawings, software, project management, building of the motor control centre, installation and commissioning of the plant (a turnkey project).
P.T. Automation Solutions have employed technologies from many companies such as Rockwell Automation, Festo, and ifm electronic for their Hermes award winning PMD optical distance sensor.
The facility is controlled by an Allan Bradley 62 series PLC, running on a ControlLogix platform. The PLC is optimised with over 400 I/O split between the PLC and a DeviceNet network. The motor control centre for this facility features multiple Kentix 6000 Servo drives running on a Sercos fibre network for the high precision and speed requirements of the application.
