THE Mitee Bite Pitbull clamp, available in Australasia from Dimac Tooling, offers a unique method of holding a workpiece with a low profile while generating vertical and horizontal clamping forces of up to 53,000N.
The clamp uses a standard cap screw and an oil resistant O-ring, while taking up only a small space in comparison to its holding force.
It is available in five sizes and three styles, one with a tool steel knife edge for aggressive stock removal, another with a tool steel blunt edge for general purpose application and a brass version to help prevent matting of workpieces.
The two new sizes are 25.4mm square with an M10 screw and 38mm square with an MI 2 screw. The holding forces are 26,000 and 53,000N respectively. Dimac Tooling 03 9561 6155.
