THE first OZ 6000 S seal making machine has been installed at Oz Seals United NSW factory.
A major upgrade of the OZ 6000, released in 1998, the system provides greater manufacturing flexibility, with an expanded tool selection capability - allowing the production of custom-made and production run seals up to 650mm OD.
A more robust system, the OZ 6000 S can do the combined work of the OZ 4000 and OZ 2000, with faster indexing and greater room for machining.
The system produces seals and parts, like gaskets and O-rings, from a wide range of stock material including polyurethane, HNBR, EPDM, PTFE, neoprene, Viton and the company's proprietary material.
Believed to be the most advanced system in the world today, Oz Seals managing director Wil Prinz said that with more than 200 seals profiles, the new system was extremely accurate and built to last, with leading edge simulation software that allows the operator to see all possible alternatives on the computer before production.
The system can manufacture complex shapes and profiles, including undercuts and garter spring grooves.
