OZ Red Super Polymer was developed by Oz Seals Pty Ltd for use in extremely arduous, heavy duty hydraulic applications in Europe, and it is now available in Australia.
This material has three lubricants: molybdenum disulphide (MOS2) and wax and fat to produce a very low friction co-efficient (0.18/0.22) and to prevent stick slip in arduous applications.
Oz Red is believed to be the only such material in the market today to have been formulated with the use of three lubricants.
Made using Oz Seals’ unique Poly3 manufacturing system, the material is ideal for use in critical production line applications like stamping presses in the automotive industry, gauging cylinders in steel mills, laminated timber presses, injection moulding cylinders etc.
Oz Red has been designed to protect cylinder barrels or rods, using the highly advanced seal designs. The material works in extreme temperatures (-50°C to 120°C) and has a shelf life of around 30 years.
Completely inert, the material exhibits no change to properties on the shelf, or used in hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Abrasion resistance is five to 20 times that of conventional materials, like rag and rubber.
Oz Red is recommended for use in air, water, HFA, HFB, HFC and biologically reducible hydraulic fluids.
The material also exhibits high pressure resistance - up to 1000Bar. Hardness is 95+2 (Shore A) and elongation at break is 420% (DIN53504). Tear strength is 140N/mm.
Oz Red produces faster working cycles for most equipment because of its self-lubricated properties. The material can handle speeds of up to 1m/sec.
Other properties include high extrusion resistance, high chemical and abrasion resistance and excellent hot water resistance up to +95°C.
Non-absorbent, Oz Red will also resist ozone, hydrolysis and ultraviolet (UV).
Oz Red comes in a standard range of profiles in both metric and imperial sizes. Non-standard profiles of up to 2100mm OD are available on order only, with very short delivery times.
