Outokumpu Technology's global business name has changed to Outotec, as of April 24 2007.
Outotec Australia Managing Director Neil Jagger says the change follows the sharemarket listing of Outokumpu Technology Oyj in October 2006, when it was agreed with the company's former parent, Outokumpu Oyj, that Outokumpu Technology would change its name.
Outotec will be providing the same products and services which Outokumpu Technology has based its reputation on in the industry (including grinding, flotation, paste thickening and automation technologies, with its leading brands including Supaflo and Tankcell).
“With the new name, the company retains the keen vision to deliver ‘More out of ore’ to the benefit of all its stakeholders,” says Jagger.
“The name Outotec unites all the company's global businesses and it provides a base for further growth. Outotec represents technology leadership, innovativeness, reliability, and collaborative spirit with customers, the same brand values that Outokumpu Technology is known for.
“The choice of name Outotec represents Outokumpu Technology’s evolution from a technology division within Outokumpu, through expansion and several acquisitions, to an independent listed company with its own brand values and visual identity.”
“Outokumpu Technology is well known for its innovative and environmentally sound proprietary technologies, many of which have become industry benchmarks. The name Outotec has a strong link to the company's past and the expertise the customers have learned to trust. “
“The team approach Outokumpu Technology has taken with its customers in order to maintain close ties and to establish long-term relationships will continue. It has made the company a trusted partner in even the most demanding challenges, says Jagger.
