With more than 20 years mining and heavy construction experience, Peter de Groot has been appointed Service Manager for Outokumpu Technology’s Minerals Processing division in Australia.
Mr de Groot will head a team of customer support engineers, providing total management of field services in Australia’s minerals processing plants. Peter de Groot’s role includes developing and implementing service agreements, encompassing minerals processing technologies, as well as preventative maintenance.
According to Outokumpu Technology, Peter de Groot’s appointment is a key role, which comes at a time when the industry faces skills shortages across the board and needs proven service expertise to maintain optimum production.
Peter de Groot’s extensive experience in mining and construction gives him an outstanding combination of hands-on experience and personal knowledge in service management at many of Australia’s major mine projects.
Peter de Groot is widely known in the industry both for his expertise in greenfield and brownfield construction and also in plant relocation, installation, commissioning and servicing of key thickening, flotation and automation technologies.
Peter de Groot’s role of developing and implementing service agreements will encompass major areas such as inspections, audits, optimisation, installation, upgrade and shutdown supervision, troubleshooting, and development of safe work procedures and method statements.
Peter de Groot’s appointment is the latest in a series of technical and service initiatives by Outokumpu Technology, including expansion of its Australian Service Centre to provide world-class skills to enhance the efficiency of its customers’ minerals processing plants.
