Open Automation Solutions (OAS) have introduced the WACI PAD-6 in Australia this year. Without the complex design and programming of common graphic user interfaces seen on a number of touch panels, the WACI PAD-6 provides robust functionality in an intuitive format.
Available in a 6 and 12 button format, the WACI PAD-6 fits comfortably in a standard single-gang metal electrical box in the 6 button style. The 6-buttons change is based on selection, so if a user presses the DVD button, the buttons will change to transport controls. With 64 MB of RAM, each button can support a number of instances.
In the background, the internal 250 MIPS web server triggers macros that may switch on a display, power up an amplifier and switch the input, dim the lights and activate the DVD play function. The buttons can then become lighting dimmer controls, volume controls, transport controls and more.
As an integration solution, the WACI PAD-6 removes nearly all end-user operational confusion and provides a durable user experience. The WACI PAD-6 can be used as a stand-alone controller, providing one IR port and one serial port as well as an Ethernet port. It can also be used to control Open Automation Solutions' WACINX line of controllers.
