Mouser Electronics, Inc., has stocked Omron’s B3U ultra-small tactile switches for high-density mounting on PCBs for mobile equipment. The B3U is one of the world’s smallest tactile switches measuring 1.2 x 3 x 2.5mm and uses only 75% of the volumetric space of similar models, giving design engineers an advantage.
Omron is a supplier of electronic components with products ranging from relays, switches and connectors to optical sensors and optical components. With a switching capacity of 1 to 50mA at 5 to 12VDC and initial contact resistance of 100m ohms max, the B3U switches feature dust-proof construction for reliable performance in harsh environments.
The B3U switches are available in top- or side-actuated configurations, with or without a locating boss, as well as a ground terminal version that provides static discharge protection.

The fully RoHS compliant switches operate in a temperature range of -25°C to +70° in 60% humidity without icing or condensation. The top-actuated B3U-1000 series has a minimum life expectancy of 200,000 operations with an operating force of 153 ± 50gf. The side-actuated B3U-3000 series has a minimum life expectancy of 100,000 operations with an operating force of 162 ± 50gf.
