Omron Electronics  has released the CJ1W-AD041U, a four channel, universal input analogue input card.

The CJ1W-AD041U card is suitable for the CJ1 series and accepts any combination of analogue (voltage or current), thermocouple (seven different types) or RTD (three different types) signal input type.

A number of high-level features are built into the CJ1W-AD041U card including scaling, alarming (separate alarm bits and settings for high and low, with settable on-delay times and hysteresis), input disconnection detection (including disconnection of the cold-junction sensor) and configurable offset and gain for each input.

Faults are indicated both visually via the ERC and ERH leds on the front of the card and internally via bits exchanged with the CPU.

There are two versions of the card, the AD041U and AD041U-SL. AD041U provides a standard screw terminal with M3 screws. AD041U-SL provides a screw-less crimp terminal, for easier wiring.

The AD041U provides 1/12,000 resolution and complete electrical isolation for all its inputs as well and PLC chassis.

The conversion time, when using all four inputs, is 250mS. It is configured in CX-Programmer, along with all other intelligent I/O cards. Up to 96 AD041Us can be mounted on a single CJ1 system.
