Omron Electronics has released version 2 of its supervisory software, CX-Supervisor.
Directly compatible with the existing v1 offering, the CX-Supervisor v2 product line has been revamped to be more line with customer demand.
CX Supervisor, like all Omron software, runs on the CX Server communications platform. This allows multiple software packages to communicate concurrently through all of Omron’s networks.
Commenting information too can easily be exchanged. CX Supervisor contains native drivers to Omron’s latest hardware including PLCs, temperature controllers, smart sensors and motion devices. An OPC client allows connection to other devices, including PLCs from other vendors.
Many open standards are supported by CX Supervisor, including OPC, ActiveX, VB Script, OBDC, SQL, etc.
Yet ease of use during both development and runtime has been maintained throughout.
Other new features include dock able editors, colour-coded script editor, language tool project analysis and health check (for finding potential problem areas and suggesting how to resolve them).
CX Supervisor runtime is now available in two editions: ME (Machine Edition) and Plus.
ME is the standard format, supporting a single computer, while Plus supports multiple computers, in a number of networkable configurations, including client/server. Both editions now use a USB dongle and an upgrade package is available for v1 users.
