NYSE Euronext is a global operator of financial markets and provider of innovative trading technologies. The company's exchanges in Europe and the United States are involved in the trading of equities, futures, options as well as fixed-income and exchange-traded products.
The company offers comprehensive commercial technology, connectivity and market data products and services through NYSE Technologies.
NYSE needed a reliable alarm reporting system to monitor critical alarms on the computer room air conditioning units and electrical distribution systems of their new UK data centre.
Spread over 315,000 square feet, the NYSE data centre located in Basildon, Essex, UK demands a very low downtime environment with extremely low mean time to repair.
The modern trading centre is expected to be back online in less than ½ hour in the event of a disruption; failure to do so would result in millions of pounds of lost trade.
The trading hall and IT equipment are supported by an electrical and mechanical infrastructure with in-built 5x redundancy.
Omniflex provided six distributed alarm systems networked back to the central control room, where grouped alarms were then displayed on an Omniflex HMI display.
Using Omniflex’s Omni16C SIL1 annunciator systems with Omniflex EasyView HMI display, alarms are displayed instantly both locally and remotely, giving the operators and engineers the information first hand when they need it.
Omniflex specialises in the supply of high integrity process alarm systems and remote monitoring equipment.
