New mine safety boots
New mine safety boots

Oliver Footwear  have released two new mine safety boots to their extensive All Terrain (AT) range that offers a quantum leap in wearer comfort and durability. The Oliver AT 65 range of safety boots, with two new versions of Oliver Bowen mining boots, are now available in either 250 mm (10 inch) or 350mm (or 14 inch) as waterproof mining boots. AT 65 Bowen mining boots feature a water proof full grain black leather upper in a Hi-Cut style and are lace up boots worn in drilling, underground mining and extractive environments.

AT 65 Bowen mining boots from Oliver Footwear employ Nomex thread on all critical seams, an integrated TPU SAFETYcell for protection, a SYMPATEX waterproof liner, an internal METflex metatarsal guard, and a WELLmax protection and penetration resistant insole, which is tough against penetrations and retains flexibility. Common to both Bowen mining boots is a unique new soling combination comprising a dual density rubber outsole with a polyurethane mid sole.

The combination of two soling compounds, polyurethane and rubber, affords a softer shock absorbing mid sole, which is designed to cushion the foot against impacts, with a hard wearing outer sole and while being lighter in weight, provides a level of comfort and flexibility unknown in rubber soling. The soling combination affords durability and is heat resistant to 300°C and with a NANOlite footbed actually massages the foot and increases the blood flow to reduce fatigue.

The integrated Oliver SAFETYcell affords abrasion resistance and enhanced durability as the boots have a thermoplastic toe, heel and side protection moulding in a wrap around shape, which further increases the durability and abrasion resistance. A padded ankle, collar and a full bellows tongue complete the safety features. The size range available is from 5 to 14 with half size increments between 6½ and 10½.

Men working at the front line in mining, drilling and quarrying wanted safety footwear, which is comfortable, durable and also afford protection especially against the risk of penetration and is waterproof and resistant to oils, acids and chemical substances. The new AT 65 Bowen mining boots are suitable for demanding mine sites and workplaces.
