OTB has released full-finger and half-finger gloves containing Gelfom vibration reducing material. This material reduces vibration energy by more than 20%-96% over ranges from 20 to 500 log Hertz.
Special models are available for hot and cold locations and applications. They are produced by the international Chase Ergonomics group. The Gelfom antivibration products have been independently tested to exceed ISO and American National Standards Institute requirements.
The gloves' performance and degrees of protection built into different designs make them suitable for industries involving different levels of use of power tools, including drills, grinders, riveters, nail guns, saws and other common tools that can damage nerves, muscles, tendons and bones.
Full finger gloves with Kevlar-stitched cowhide shells offer maximum protection, with CE-marked models meeting EN 10819 standards. Driver-style gloves, summerweight gloves, Pol-Gard gloves and anti-vibration liners for multipurpose gloves all provide different types of protection for different tasks. Some models can be specified with wrist supports to protect workers by maintaining a neutral wrist position.
