OTA Training have appointed Jonathan Elcombe as General Manager of OTA Training’s operations in Australia and the Pacific Rim. According to OTA Training, Elcombe has global experience in the logistics and supply chain industry as well as the IT and service sectors.
Elcombe will lead OTA Training’s penetration across Australia and Pacific Rim for advanced and certified training in RFID systems, build OTA’s relationships as a corporate training partner with businesses.
OTA Training provide advanced RFID training to their Australian clients. In July 2008, OTA Training opened an office in Canberra as their base for Australasia region. OTA Training then offered ‘A Systems Approach to RFID and RFID+ Certification’ programme in Canberra. OTA Training also offered RFID training and certification at Melbourne and have recently completed their “RFID in Healthcare” course for ACT Health in Canberra.
Following the ruling of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) that RFID devices with up to 4W of power may now be used in Australia in the 920 to 926MHz band, OTA Training have announced that they would include additional training for 4 Watt RFID devices in the classes hosted in Australia.
Elcombe joins OTA Training after C-level executive positions as CEO at Secura Shield, developer of an affordable RFID e-Seal high security seal for shipping containers and General Manager at ORGA Card Systems responsible for the Middle East, North Africa and India.
From mid-1984 through May 1999, Elcombe was a commercial manager for TNT Express Worldwide with international assignments in a variety of positions in Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2008, he participated in the GS1 Phase 3 pilot for transport and logistics between Japan and Europe. He is also an inventor focusing on Tamper evident RFID solutions.
Elcombe is active in business associations and industry organisations, including professional networking groups such as the GS1, AutoID Professionals, Logistics & Supply Chain Networking, RFID Australasia, Smart Cards & RFID, Battery-Assisted Passive, TNT Networking and TNT Nederland Alumni on LinkedIn.
