RUSSELL Finex, represented in Australia by Nupac Industries , has released liquid/solid separator. The separator is angle set to control the dryness of oversize solids.
Liquid is gravity fed or pumped into the lower end of the machine where it is passed into a cylindrical mesh basket. Inside, a rotating paddle assembly assists flow with centrifugal force. Retained solids agglomerate inside the mesh and are moved to the oversize outlet though a helical scroll on the paddle blade assembly.
Throughput and the degree of dryness are controlled with an optional variable speed gearbox. The separator body, which pivots within its frame by 25º from the horizontal. This allows a user to increase or decrease the retained water content and achieve optimum consistency for air blowing residues into the collecting vehicles tank.
It is capable of handling high flow rates of liquid slurries while screens as fine as 10/20 micron can be used in food or similar applications. The flexing action of the mesh gives it a self-cleaning capacity and reduces the frequency of strip downs. At the same time the system reduces the cost of disposing effluent streams, reduces the loss of good product and is quiet and simple to operate.
