The W-Type pin guided centrifugal clutch

The W-Type pin guided centrifugal clutch, available from Norman G Clark , has the advantages of the F-Type and S-Type clutches. The parts subject to wear are easy to replace as the tension springs are easily accessible and the linings, removable.

Like the S-Type, the W-Type pin guided centrifugal clutch provides accurate guidance for the flyweights, ensuring quiet operation of the centrifugal clutch. The performance factor for torque transmission of the W-Type centrifugal clutch is 1.0.

The W-Type pin guided centrifugal clutch from Norman G Clark has a cylindrical hub and carries two flyweights, which can slide on cylindrical pins. The tension springs present in the W-Type pin guided centrifugal clutches are attached outside the flyweights to lining carriers.

The tension springs restrain the flyweights until centrifugal force overcomes the spring force. The flyweights then lift from their seats and the lining contact the inside diameter of the clutch drum. The resulting friction between the linings and the clutch drum allows torque transmission.
